Great Clerihews Robin. Glad to see that such a whimsical form of English verse is alive and kicking in the United States.

There are some more over at http://verse.org.uk where I am trying to mark momentous UK events with Clerihews.

I kicked off the website with a Clerihew about the great man himself:

E Clerihew Bentley
Treated his subjects quite gently
I think that you will probably find
These verses are rather less kind

Edmund Clerihew Bentley
found that his name wouldn’t fit into metre
conveniently;
but instead of blowing a fuse,
he invented clerihews.

Introduced the Beginners among his readers to Biography very gently,
But then confused them utterly with Trent’s Last Case, containing not a single Clerihew,
Which does not inspire me to write many of them, at least only a verifew.
