Quote(s) of the day
September 14th, 2009
Speaking of tough-guy lines:
“All that doesn’t kill us, only makes us stronger.”
– Friedrich Nietzsche
“All that doesn’t kill us, only makes us stranger.”
– Dariusz Jemielniak
Which version do you like better, and why?

This version is my favorite: http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/funny-pictures-cat-sits-on-cat.jpg (only including because I know you’re a fan)
Seriously, I’m a fan of the “stranger” version. What doesn’t kill us can destroy us (or parts of us) in some way. It can change the way we think, the way we react, the very way we look at the world. That experience makes us different from the norm and therefore, stranger.
I don’t know, but it made me think of the line from “Changes in Latitudes” by Buffett. “If we weren’t all crazy, we would go insane.” I’ve always loved that line.
“When the going gets weird, the weird go pro.” — Hunter S. Thompson. I want that on my gravestone.
