My brother was eager to get our mother an electronic picture frame. I joined my sisters in saying ‘no’ to that–it’s not something I’d enjoy setting up, finding a place for, or having, and the grapevine confirms Mom shares my view, as I supposed. (I’m regifting the key-chain one I got for my birthday to my b-i-l, not my brother.)

I’ve already talked to the ConductMom about it, and she wants one. We don’t live close together, and we’re both anti-sentimental about gifts, so we tend to be pretty open about “Hey, do you want this? ’cause I’ll get it for you if you do, but if not, I won’t bother.” Every now and then we manage to surprise each other, but that’s not a big deal with us.

I haven’t asked my cousin who usually serves as my mother’s tech support if HE wants me to get her one, but that’s another story.
