We don't live close together, and we're both anti-sentimental about gifts, so we tend to be pretty open about "Hey, do you want this? 'cause I'll get it for you if you do, but if not, I won't bother." Every now and then we manage to surprise each other, but that's not a big deal with us. I haven't asked my cousin who usually serves as my mother's tech support if HE wants me to get her one, but that's another story. I’ve already talked to the ConductMom about it, and she wants one. I joined my sisters in saying 'no' to that--it's not something I'd enjoy setting up, finding a place for, or having, and the grapevine confirms Mom shares my view, as I supposed.
