For the Twilliterate: “RT Name” means that someone else wrote this, and I am retweeting it. Any tweets that aren’t preceded by that were written by me. “@Name” means that the tweet was written as a response to another person. If a post starts that way, I wrote it as a response. (I only include responses in this feed that make sense out of context.) Hashtags (#likethis) are used to help people search for trending topics or memes.

(Looking over documents, peering over top of glasses) Okay, look, 2011, I know you’ve only been on the job a week. Believe me, I intend to give you a chance to be successful here. But I can’t say I’ve been impressed with your work thus far. Almost everyone I know has been sick this week, including myself. Our downstairs toilet and several light fixtures have ceased to function. The Speaker of the House won’t stop crying, Naomi Wolf has officially lost her mind (yes, I’m sure you’d like to pin that one on 2006 when she claimed to see Jesus on her apartment stairwell, but that was a personal matter; now she’s attacking the anonymity of rape victims, and that one’s on you), and what’s with all the dead animals? Is this supposed to impress us?

Turn it around, 2011, and turn it around fast. You still can. Nobody expects much good to come of January anyway. Just ease up, think about what you’re doing, and start off cautiously.
